Puriri at North West Raglan
Head north toward Port Waikato on the coast road from Raglan and the landscape you will encounter can only be but described as beautiful. That beauty lies in the character of a relict landscape left behind after man deforested the land to make way for grass. Thankfully, the forester and his axemen avoided the craggy limestone bluffs and the precipice like guts of small streams – so there a remnant of what was, can be seen. Clusters of native trees and shrubs, or a lone, but prominent, individual specimen of a grand tree clinging tenuously to the land.
